Dunseith Day School strives to make the enrollment process straightforward and accessible for all families. Below are the requirements and guidelines for enrollment, including important information on early enrollment for kindergarten.

Enrollment Overview

Parents or legal guardians must complete the following to enroll a student at Dunseith Day School:

1. Required Documents:

• Certified Birth Certificate: A certified copy is required for age verification.
• Enrollment Forms: Please ensure all necessary forms are completed fully and signed.
• Immunization Records: Current immunization records are required to ensure health and safety regulations compliance.

2. Submission: The school office handles all registration procedures, which can be completed during regular business hours. Please ensure you have all necessary documents ready before arriving.

Transfer Students

Students transferring from other schools within a 25-mile radius will not be accepted after the fifth day of the new quarter.

Age Requirements 

• Kindergarten: To enroll, students must be potty trained and have turned 5 by August 1 of the enrollment year.
• First grade: Students must be 6 years old by August 1 to enroll in first grade.
• In North Dakota, the compulsory school age is 7 years old.

Early Enrollment for Kindergarten

Dunseith Day School offers early enrollment for students who will turn five between August 1 and November 30 of the enrollment year. To qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

• Demonstrate exceptional academic ability as well as social and emotional readiness.
• Complete an Early Entrance Assessment to evaluate readiness for kindergarten.
• The school's current administrator will make the final decision based on the assessment results.

Annual Enrollment Form

A new enrollment form must be submitted each academic year for every Dunseith Day School student.
